In the parable of the prodigal son, the son’s greed leads him to squander his inheritance. Yet, his biggest sin, even more than his greediness, was his rebellion against his father. Like the prodigal son, we believe that we can live independently of our Father, specifically our Heavenly Father. However, that rebellion only leads us down a path of destruction. But, because of His mercy, we as sinners can be restored one day to become co-heirs with Christ.
