English Sermon (01/17/21) – Beneath the Surface: Know Yourself So You May Know God (1 Samuel 17)
How many of us are living day by day based on how the world expects us to live without thinking about the real purpose of our lives? Wake up, go to school or work, sleep and repeat the same routine the next day and every day after that. Many of us currently live this false self – one that God did not intend or make us to be. Through the famous passage in 1 Samuel 17, we look at how to discover the way that God has made us. Part of that journey is identifying the barriers in our lives that keep us from living out our true selves. We need to live true to how God made us, using what God has given us, so that we may know who He is and by extension for the whole world to know who He is, just as young David did.
