Tests of Life (Part 1) – Obedience and Love
In 1 John 2:3-29, John shared us three tests of life to check if we have eternal life in Christ: 1) Moral 2) Relational 3) Convictional. This messages covers the first two tests (1 John 2:3-11). For the moral test, obedience to God’s commands is a sign that we are alive in Christ. It is not a way to earn salvation but an evidence that we have salvation. For the relational test, our love for another shows us that we walk in the light and our eyes are no longer blinded by Satan.

Death is unnatural and it brings much sorrow and pain. But Christ reminds us that there is something that is worst than death – His future judgment. Christ’s death affirms the certainty of this judgment as well as provides a way out from this judgment. Our response of faith in Jesus Christ in this world guarantees our hope for heaven in the future.
