In America, Christians have been largely insulated from the suffering that the rest of the Christians in the world endures for Jesus’ sake. Yet Peter teaches us in suffering, we have a platform to shout loudly the Gospel with our actions. We must learn from Peter and lean on Jesus as we prepare ourselves to suffer well for the name of Jesus if we are called upon to do so.
God has made men and women equal in value but different in roles. When husbands lead as they are called to lead and wives submit as they are called to submit, it presents the beautiful picture to world how marriage is supposed to reflect the love that God has for His people.
Submission is the megaphone for the Gospel in our world. The world sees submission as powerless, weak and overrated. But Peter calls us to endure injustice through our submission to the earthly authority placed over us by God. We shout loudly the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our lives of submission.
A culture of love is what it would take for us to shine for Jesus in this world. The way to foster love within the Body of Christ can only be done through believers engaging in the living and abiding Word of Christ.
