A door is used for keeping things away or opening into a new environment. If screens are like doors, how we use it can help keep evil things away from us or lead people to experience Christ through our community. Paul challenges us not to be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
Relationships are messy and inconvenient. Screens can become a smokescreen for us to escape from relationships that God wants to use to grow us. Instead of being distracted by screens, we must learn to be present with the people face to face. We have the perfect example in God who has always been present with us.
Paul calls us to put every area of our lives as a sacrifice before Jesus Christ. That includes how we use our screens. Whatever we don’t put at the altar as a sacrifice to God, that very thing becomes our “god”. When we are not careful, we can easily let our screen time mold us into the ways of the world.
