As Christ’s followers, we are chosen, precious and treasured. But these are not merely inwardly focused identity. They are also externally focused identity to proclaim God in this world of darkness.
The church is not an activity but an identity. The church is not the building but the Body of Christ. The church is not a program but the people of God saved by the power of God for the mission of God. The church has been given resurrecting power through Christ to bring the fullness of Christ into every nook and cranny in this broken world.
Who we are determines what we do. Our identity defines our purpose and function. In Christ, we have been adopted as sons and daughters of God. We no longer have to find worth in what we do or what we own. We have been made, owned and purchased by our heavenly Father.
