The Apostle John was exhorting his audience (believers) to pray for one another especially those who are in sin. Believers have been saved by grace through faith. We are spared of eternal death and separation from God. Yet our salvation does not preclude us from sinning in this world. We must take sins seriously in our lives and in the lives of our brothers and sisters.
